Steve Harrison
Born in Ft. Worth, Texas, Steve Harrison started his musical journey in the right place. He got his talent and love of country music from his father but it was his mother and grandparents that made sure those seeds grew by starting him and brother Rodger in guitar lessons at a very early age. Singing and playing guitar wouldn’t be quite enough to satisfy Steve, though. In middle school he began playing trumpet and he blew that horn all the way through high school falling in love with some of the soaring jazz greats along the way. After high school Steve joined his brother Rodger, uncle David, step-father Randy, and life-long friend Micheal Price to form The Blarney Brothers. Soon Steve was playing pubs and learning Irish music. That is when the training wheels came off. After adding high-school-mate Matthew Williams, The Blarney Brothers grew into one of the largest names in contemporary Celtic music. It was during this time that Steve began expanding his musical palette. He learned mandolin, bouzouki, hammered dulcimer, penny whistle, bagpipes and didjeridoo simply to broaden the music for the band. After The Blarney Brothers Steve played with Jiggernaut, Free Whiskey, No Class and even joined his father to form Seamus Moses. These bands span a huge range of styles from Celtic to Texas Country to Americana. Currently Steve entertains audiences with The Trinity River Whalers, The Irish Rogues, and No Class and has added banjo and accordion to his arsenal. During this long performance career Steve has played all over the nation at some of the finest pubs and some of the largest festivals in the country. Recently Steve started producing and recording projects at his own Honeybee Studios. He has engineered and produced for Deanna Smith Scotland, Trinity River Whalers, and his first ever solo project appropriately titled Celtic Cowboy. It has been a long road to this point in Steve’s career, but the journey isn’t over yet.
